Poland's Highest-Paid CEOs in 2024
Who earned the most among Warsaw Stock Exchange leadership?
The Full Picture
Executive compensation in Poland's listed companies remains a subject of intense public interest. As corporate governance standards evolve and Poland's capital markets mature, transparency around pay packages has improved significantly.
Our analysis covers the management boards (zarządy) and supervisory boards (rady nadzorcze) of 15 major WSE-listed companies, drawing from legally mandated annual report disclosures.
Key Findings
Banking dominates the top of the table. PKO Bank Polski, mBank, and Santander Bank Polska consistently place their executives among the highest-paid in the Polish market. This reflects both the scale of these institutions and the competitive pressure from international banking groups operating in Poland.
The tech premium is real. CD Projekt's leadership compensation, while structured differently from financial sector peers, reflects the global nature of the gaming industry and the company's international revenue base.
State ownership creates a ceiling. Companies with significant Treasury stakes — PKN Orlen, PZU, KGHM — tend to cap executive pay below what purely private-sector peers offer. This is a structural feature of the Polish market that distinguishes it from Western European norms.
Methodology
All figures are drawn from annual reports filed with the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Compensation includes base salary, variable pay, bonuses, stock option value, and other benefits. All values are in PLN with EUR equivalents calculated at the ECB reference rate.
